@ 5 months Clara...
Laughs at the oddest things. For some reason she finds having her diaper changed particularly funny. She also likes big open mouths (maybe it's the teeth), loud popping noises, and messy hair.
Sleeps okay. She started getting up multiple times each night (= neurotic me). So we've begun a form of "sleep training" that involves a bit of crying, but by no means are we abandoning her or letting her go hungry. I started a bad habit of letting her nurse to sleep so now she expects to be fed before every nap and when she wakes up in the wee hours of the morning. I still let her nurse, but I make sure to put her in her crib while she's still awake (even if it means a few tears), but it seems to be working so far. She's even started taking 1 1/2- 2 hour naps some days!
(I actually made that headband! I'm highly craft-phobic so I'm quite proud of myself. My upstairs neighbor-friend, Bryn, taught me and shared her supplies- so all it cost was a few hot-glue singed fingertips.)
Over the last month her reflux seemed to get continually worse. I survived 6 weeks dairy-free but didn't see the improvement we'd hoped for. So now I'm back on dairy (and thrilled to be, at least temporarily) and off of chocolate completely (tends to affect reflux babies). We started Zantac which has helped a little, but not drastically. I've been working with her pediatricians to find the right combination of "treatments" to help her out. At least there is hope that she'll outgrow her issue before too long...
She still hasn't managed to roll from back to belly yet. (I think this is more a lack of desire rather than skill. She usually complains about tummy time and is content to stay on her back.) She does squirm all over and scoot in circles. And push her booty way up in the air while she face plants on the floor. She's also started sitting for a few seconds supported by her hands.
She has big beautiful blue eyes.
An irresistible gummy smile.
And a mouth that opens wider than mine.
Her noggin is still huge. And slightly flat in back.
I love to rub that little bald head.
(No stats this month. Her next check-up isn't 'till 6 months.)

Try Prevacid! We just started Andy on it and it seems to be helping (though we're just a few days in he isn't crying 24 hours a day anymore...yay)!
