Clara @ 4 months

this month Clara found her hands (or really they found each other- and now they're inseparable)

and found her feet (although, luckily, they have not found their way into her mouth- yet)

she's super talkative and squeals when she's happy, excited, angry, hungry, tired, bored, or mad

she makes us work hard for her giggles. at least we caught a few on video...

she's still suffering from reflux (or dairy allergy or breast milk oversupply (technically my issue) or whatever is causing her misery). we've started her on a small dose of Zantac which she spits out/throws up most of the time so we've yet to find out if it helps

she loves toys- will now reach for toys when handed them and holds and plays with them

still has very little hair... and even less in the bald patch that has just formed on the back of her head

we've totally given up on the pacifier and usually don't bother with a bottle anymore (even when i'm not home and there is no other source of food she'll usually refuse). oh well. i'm getting really good at breastfeeding everywhere

this girl used to sleep a 10-11 hour stretch almost every night. not so much the last few weeks (i blame the "4-month sleep regression" if there really is such a thing). now it takes her hours of waking before settling down and while on the occasional night she'll surprise us with a 12-hour slumber, most nights she's awake once or twice wanting to eat

naps drive me crazy... she maxes out at 45 minutes about 3 times a day

i don't know yet how much she's grown, but she seems huge to me- what happened to my little newborn baby?!

(i'll update with stats after her next check-up in 2 weeks @ 4 1/2 months...)

UPDATED 4-1/2 month stats:

height: 25.5 inches (~75th percentile)
weight: 14 lbs. 14 oz. (~50th percentile)
head circumference: 43 cm/16 inches (~90th percentile)

the large head persists :)

  1. What a cutie! both of my girls had reflux. zantac helped them sleep and nap better but they still spit up a lot. it slowed down around 6 months! hopefully clara's reflux gets better soon. good luck!!!
