these days

our park

there is a small city park (or as the sign calls it "neighborhood place") half a block behind our house. it's only the size of a house lot. but it's beautiful and peaceful and we find ourselves there often.

we spend a lot of time at home. alone together. in our pj's. (actually, clara gets dressed more often than I do.)

no sleep

apparently Clara has joined the political momentum here in Chicago and gone on a sleep strike. the last few days weeks she's had a hard time going to bed and starting waking up again at all hours of the night. 2 nights ago was particularly bad: she woke up 6+ times and didn't sleep more than 3 hours straight. this coming from the baby who used to go 10 hours no complaint. could it be a growth spurt, teething, developmental phase (or a lethal combination of all three)? i can't figure it out. i do know that me + no sleep = crazy! i love this girl to death but i'd rather not hang out at 3am.

oh, and napping. sometimes she will, sometimes she won't. since she discovered her voice this is how i find her frequently (sorry the video is so dark and grainy. i was sneaking up on her and didn't want to turn the light on)...
